Remember when you used to tape the top ten every Sunday ? no.. oh ok..  Well don’t worry because now every month we share ten songs that have received regular play in the Revolution Office. Here is our list (in no particular order) of top ten ticklers for October..Enjoy, dance, then go out and support the artists by purchasing these aural treats.

1. Chappo : ‘Come Home’

Fantastic pop record from this Brooklyn duo.  Recently featured on the new Ipod advert

2. Janelle Monáe ft Big Boi : ‘Tightrope’

High energy R&B featuring a great verse from Big Boi of Outkast fame.  The new Rihanna?

3. Mark Ronson ft Boy George & Miike Snow : ‘Somebody To Love Me’ (Holy Ghost Remix)

Our favourite cut from the new Ronson album remixed by NY disco outfit Holy Ghost (Download the remix here )

4. Azari & III : ‘Reckless With Your Love’ (Tensnake Remix)

Sounds like a Soul II Soul 90’s throwback with a touch of C+C music factory thrown in. We like this a lot.

5. N.E.R.D : ‘Hypnotize U’

New single from Pharrell & Co. Produced by Daft Punk

6. Kings Of Leon : ‘Pony Up’

Standout cut from the new LP ‘Come Around Sundown’.  Calebs gritty southern drawl sits on Jareds nagging bass perfectly.  The Kings can do no wrong even though they are the biggest band around right now!

7.  The XX : ‘VCR’ (Four Tet Remix)

We saw The XX play to 100 people in a shitty basement in Manchester a couple of years ago, now they are absolutely everywhere and have a mercury music prize under their belt. One of the best new bands to emerge in the last few years. Four tets remix turns this delicate sparse love song into a 9 minute electronic tearjerker that will tug on your heartstrings. Beautiful.

8.  Lykke Li : ‘Get Some’

Comeback single from the Swedish pop pixie which is currently being given away for free from her website.

9. Jamiroquai : ‘All Good In The Hood’

New single from that bloke that slides around all over the floor and wears stupid hats. Pure disco vibes with ultra slick production as always. JK is back at his classic best. Expect chart botherers in the near future.

10.  Aloe Blacc : ‘I Need A Dollar’

Modern day soul for the recession generation. Echoes of Marvin Gaye crossed with Gnarls Barkley. Great song that has been stuck on repeat in our office.

Please support the artists and buy these songs, they will enrich your life and make you look cool.

xx
