When the heat of summer strikes, you’ve got to make sure you’re ready to handle it.
That’s why we’ve put together this guide to staying cool.
No, not the ‘it’s important to regulate body temperature’ type of cool. We’re talking about the cool that James Dean/Prince/Beyonce possess. Y’know, the important kind.
So listen up – here’s how to make sure you don’t lose your cool this summer.
Never take off your sunglasses
When you’re out in the sun with your shades on, no one in their right mind is going to deny how awesome you look. So why the hell not take that cool inside with you?
So there’s no practical reason why you’re wearing shades indoors. So what? You think Jay Z wears a plaster on his cheek because he cut himself shaving or something? Of course not. Because being cool means doing stuff that makes no sense and acting like it’s totally normal.
Learn an insane dance move
Being cool might look effortless. But it’s actually all about leaving nothing to chance.
That’s why it’s absolutely imperative that you stop winging it when it comes to the stepping up to the dancefloor. Just make some time to learn one power move, then bust it out as soon as everyone is watching. It will go down in summer history.
Instagram everything you do
Look, there’s no point spending a wholesome, memory-filled day hanging out with friends if you don’t put it online for the world to see.
Remember, if you didn’t Instagram it, it essentially never happened. After all, the only point of having friends you love is to impress people you don’t care about.
It’s summer, which means there are going to be a lot of opportunities for you to show some skin.
If that happens, do you really want to be showing off a bare canvas of plain old human? Of course you don’t. Get to the tattoo parlour and ask them to load your upper body from neck to wrist with sailor icons and pithy quotes about friendship taken from Facebook memes.
You’ll look all interesting and thoughtful, It’s the only way to make it look like your cool is more than skin deep.
Listen to the right stuff
It’s all well and fine having a unique, eclectic taste in music, but unfortunately that’s not going to be scoring you any points at festivals when you don’t know the words to the headliner’s songs.
Check out our guide here to make sure you know the soundtrack to this summer.
After all, there’s nothing worse than the FOMO of not knowing a tune when everyone else does.
Drink some proper cocktails
This summer, rum and coke with no ice or lime just ain’t gonna cut it.
If you want any chance of staying cool this, you’ve absolutely got to up your cocktail game. We’ve just mixed up the perfect collection of summer cocktails using Ketel One premium vodka, and they’re guaranteed to make you look like a proper cocktail aficionado.
For a full run-down of what they’re like, check out this post here.
Then, go ahead and book a table to try them all (which is totally feasible, thanks to our 2-4-1 Happy Hour cocktail offer, available 9-5pm from Sunday to Friday)
It’s a one way ticket to a world of summer cool.
