Summer is basically life turning on the stage lights and forcing you to get your style on point.
There’s no hiding from the sunshine. This ain’t winter. You can’t blend into the gloomy weather with your lacklustre looks.
No. You’ve got to bring the ruckus. The trouble is, not everyone can do. And that’s okay – those people will be punished accordingly when they’re barraged with judgemental stares.
But if you don’t want to be one of those poor souls, here are some summer fashion fails for you to avoid.
Socks and Sandals
The classic summertime fashion fail. If you’re rocking this look at any point during summer, you may as well cut holes into a burlap sack and walk around with that on, because you’re clearly not even trying to look good.
A rookie mistake. It’s fine to wear your shades when the sun is shining. Just remember to take them off again before you step indoors. It’s an instant ticket to oh-my-god-look-at-that-saddo-wearing-glasses-indoors-ville.
The vest is a very risky move. They’re very revealing, so you’ve got to make sure you’re feeling ready to show off some skin. On the other hand, if you’re too ripped, it all starts to feel a bit desperate.
Look, wearing shorts during summer is fine. But if you’re going to do it, make sure you commit one way or the other. Three-quarters are like the Star Wars Prequel trilogy – they should never have happened.
No matter how carefully you apply it, it’s never going to be totally even. You’ll always end up looking like you’re smeared yourself with PVA glue and rolled on a clay tennis court.
Summer is about bright, bold colours, and this is definitely the season to don something a little more colourful than usual. Don’t take that principle too far though, or else you’ll end up looking like our friend Slater up there (and only HE can pull colours like that off!).
Now, here’s what you’re gonna do.
You’re going to avoid all of these fashion fails like the plague.
Then, whilst you’re looking ultra-hot, you’re gonna book a table at our Big Weekend, starting this Friday night.
Because the biggest fashion fail of the summer would be not turning up on our dance floor this weekend.
