You don’t meddle with classics. You just don’t do it.
Especially not classics like the Mojito, one of the most iconic cocktails around. Meddle with that, and you’re committing nothing less than sacrilege.
But then again….we’re total renegades who’ve never once even looked at the rulebook, so we’ll do whatever the hell we want with the Mojito.
That’s why we loaded it with coconut and mango to make it even more tropical. And with this recipe, now you’re going to aswell.
1 tbsp caster sugar
3 lime wedges
50ml Bacardi Carta Blanca
12.5ml mango purée
12.5ml Coco Reál
10-12 mint leaves
First, pour the Coco Reál into a 13oz glass. Squeeze the juice of three lime wedges into the glass and add 50ml of Bacardi Carta Blanca. Add the mango purée and sugar, then stir all the ingredients together. Then, add crushed ice to about ¾ full.
Now, grab the mint, hold it flat in the palm of your hand, and slap it firmly with your other hand. Then, take the mint and press it all along the rim of the glass.
Churn all of the ingredients with a spoon then top with crushed ice and soda.
Finally, top with a slapped mint sprig and a wedge of lime.
This cocktail is proof that sometimes it’s awesome to break the rules.
