The Oscars are this weekend, and we’re really excited about it – Hollywood glamour is what we’re all about after all.

To get you in the mood for it, we’ve put together a list of our favourite bars to have ever been put to film.

Some of them are glamorous, some are a little dangerous, but every one of them has famous movie stars in, so automatically they’re really, really cool.

Rick’s Cafe, Casablanca

Is anything cooler than Humphrey Bogart sitting at the bar sipping on gin lamenting the love he lost? Add Sam’s piano playing to that scene, and you’ve got the ultimate recipe for one of the classiest bars ever to grace celluloid.

Mos Eisley Cantina, Star Wars: A New Hope

It’s edgy, full of weird and wonderful characters and they’ve even got a great live band. Welcome to the Mos Eisley Cantina, which is so dodgy you can get your arm sliced off by a lightsabre and no one bat an eyelid.

Korova Milk Bar, A Clockwork Orange

Alex and his violent crew of droogs are an awful bunch, but no one can deny that the Korova Milk Bar they love drinking at looks ridiculously cool. Naked mannequins for tables – sure, why not?

The Vampire Strip Club, From Dusk Til Dawn

Only Quentin Tarantino would come up with a sleazy strip club in which all of the employees can randomly transform into blood hungry vampires without a moment’s notice. Not the safest bar in the world, but easily one of the coolest.

Lloyd’s Hotel Bar, The Shining

Fancy a drink with a murderous ghost bartender who will slowly but surely convince you to kill your whole family? Look no further than the hotel bar in Stanley Kubrick’s creepy as hell masterpiece.

Boogie Nights Disco, Boogie Nights

Paul Thomas Anderson is known for making America look really nice on film, and that’s no truer than in this iconic opening long take of a disco in 70’s LA. Have you ever wanted to grab your flares and get partying more?

The Three Broomsticks, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Every Potter fan in the world fell in love with the luxurious description of butterbeer in the novels, and this scene had us all salivating with envy as the three protagonists sipped on it with glee.

The Winchester, Shaun of the Dead

When the whole world is falling to pieces thanks to a zombie apocalypse, where better to go than The Winchester? There, the friendly bartenders will serve you up a local real ale to help you forget about the memory of your now zombified loved ones. Much better, right?

Shelly’s Bar, Sin City

Sure, Shelly’s bar might play host to some of the most abhorrent and violent reprobates in all of Sin City (which is a pretty corrupt place in general), but when it’s all so stylish and gray scale and cool-looking as this, who the hell cares?

Gaston’s Bar, Beauty and the Beast

This bar has everything – a real fire, great ale, lusty barmaids who’ll help you out with your song and dance number. What more could you want? If you’re looking, local patron Gaston will whip out his bristly chest mid-song for you.

It’s well and good talking about these really cool movie bars, but at the end of the day, they’re totally fictitious.

If you want to go to a real life bar that’s totally awesome and full and great drinks, obviously you’ve got to head to one of ours.

Our drinks menu is the perfect script for a good time, so check it out and grab yourself some liquid glamour in time for the Oscars.
