When it comes to the wonderful world of cocktails, there are few concoctions as iconic as the Cosmopolitan Martini. Popularised by bar owner John Caine when he introduced the drink to San Francisco in the mid-1980s, the Cosmo has gone on to become an essential mix for any bar worth its salt.
Want to live it up like the Sex and the City girls without having to buy a ticket to NYC? Then check out our recipe for the Cosmopolitan Martini right here.
37.5ml Grey Goose Le Citron vodka
50ml cranberry juice
12.5ml lime juice
Garnish with orange twist
Chill a martini glass with crushed ice and soda water. Then get a cocktail shaker, fill with cubed ice and add the lime juice, cranberry juice, Grey Goose Le Citron and Cointreau. Shake vigorously for a few seconds and strain into your empty chilled martini glass. Rub the orange peel around the rim of the glass and drop into the drink.
Serve with a couple of classy straws and a whole barrel-load of sass.
