Drinking tea is an important part of everyday functioning for millions of people. And being British, the immediate response to a crisis of any kind is to simply pop the kettle on.
Dropped your phone down the toilet again? Pop the kettle on. A meteor the size of Australia heading to Earth? Pop the kettle on. Forgot about that cuppa and now it’s cold? Pop the… You get the idea.
Well, now we’ve got one WAY better than your bog-standard brew. Our Ketel Mar-tea-ni is a tipsy twist on the nation’s favourite drink, and better yet, we’re showing you how to brew it all by yourself.
So, that meteor that’s expected to hit in the next few hours? Sod the kettle. Grab yourself a Ketel Mar-tea-ni instead.
Your favourite tea cup
37.5ml Ketel One vodka
12.5ml Elderflower cordial
50ml Earl Grey tea
12.5ml Lemon juice
12.5ml Apricot syrup
25ml Apple juice
Now, the first thing you’re going to want to do is… Pop the kettle on. Yep, brew a cup of Earl Grey tea and then leave it to cool.
Meanwhile, grab a Boston tin and fill it with cubed ice. Then add the Ketel One vodka, your elderflower cordial, apricot syrup, and lemon juice. Give everything in the Boston tin a vigorous shake, and maybe even a quick stir with a spoon if old habits die hard.
Then sieve the contents into your favourite tea cup, pour in your apple juice and 50ml of your cooled Earl Grey. Stir, and finish off with a quick squeeze of grapefruit.
There you have it. Even terrible tea-makers, who under-brew and over-milk their mugs could manage this… We hope.
